Tampering With The Laws of Goodness
(a friendship poem for and about Maston Thomas Walker)
By Cindy Bear
Traveling on gentle wings of song,
Sweet music man, I’ve not known you long,
Yet still, you show me so much love, a pearl
Of friendship, the like so rare in this world.
A big angel drifting through this life,
Seeking harmony, avoiding strife,
By spreading sweet feelings of happiness,
And tampering with the laws of goodness.
Your crooked halo, so enchanting,
Mischievous, rowdy angel, singing
True songs of faith, of life, of love, of pain,
And now my life will never be the same.
My big angel living here on Earth,
My dear friend, you’ve shown me my self-worth,
With living, loving, no self-righteousness,
By tampering with the laws of goodness.
Your many friends living far and wide,
Your family know, bumbas you ride,
Jamaica’s beaches reside in your heart,
Music was in your soul, right from the start.
Our big angel, we do love you so,
We really, truly, do hope you know,
We love your heart, your songs and selflessness,
Keep tampering with the laws of goodness.
